Thanks for stopping by today during H. R. and Oscar’s visit. Are you a fan of friendly ghosts like Casper and Oscar?

Review: Oscar is a sweet ghost but afraid of a lot of things. When he gets a mysterious note to pick up a package from the graveyard, he ventures out into the spooky night with the hope he doesn't come across any monsters.

This children's book was so much fun. Oscar is a nervous ghost, seemingly scared of everything. Even though he is a ghost! He goes on his adventure and thinks everything is out to eat him, but things are not always as they seem. Oscar makes some friends along the way, so friendly even while he is scared. It's a great lesson to kids that what you might think is frightening may be something nice and fascinating instead. My favorite parts of the book are the beautiful illustrations. Of course, there are the cute images of Oscar himself, but there are realistic pictures of plants, spiders, and frogs. The attention to detail is wonderful. It helps the story take on life and brings the reader in to this paranormal adventure, connecting to sights from our everyday lives.

Oscar's tale is perfect not only for the spooky season, but for all year round. For your own nervous children, it isn't scary at all. It's adorable and heartwarming.
