Review of Deep Curse: A Mermaid Romance

Blurb: A thousand year curse.

A mythical creature of the deep.

Is true love enough to save a cursed mermaid?

Arik Grayson has made the discovery of a life time. A mermaid living in the deep ocean. But Alyona shows him there is more to these beautiful sirens than he previously thought. Myths hidden in the real world.

Like ancient gods.

And curses.

And vengeful sisters.

Alyona’s sisters don’t want the curse broken, and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to stop Grayson and Alyona. As more people are hurt, Alyona is faced with a Save herself or save her sisters.

She can only choose one.

Review: Doctor Arik Grayson has always loved the creatures of the vast dark oceans, but one thing he never thought he'd find is a deep sea mermaid. Already three mermaids have been discovered, and he makes contact with a fourth. Alyona confesses she and her sisters are cursed. Arik is determined to help the sweet mermaid break the curse, but her sisters do not want to lose their powers and will do anything to stop her.

This is a wonderfully written mermaid fantasy romance novella. Right from the beginning, I could feel Arik's love of the ocean and the creatures that reside there. There are fantastic descriptions of life under the sea paired with his excitement. He's a man with a real passion for his work, and when he meets Alyona, he develops a passion for her. Alyona has learned a lot in her centuries of solitude, and she's so sweet. I won't spoil anything by saying what they learn about the curse and how they try to break it, but I was on the edge of my seat, reading the second half of this book straight through to the end. If only mermaids like Alyona were real!
