Before she becomes his next victim.

Review: Ella Mills has a quiet and ordered life as an art gallery owner with a few panic attacks now and then. When a brutal killer escapes from prison, she's convinced he's stalking her, but others think it's just her paranoia. Her best friend Suzy is kidnapped and she can only rely on her homeless friend and Suzy's boyfriend, but in the end, she must overcome her own fears to save her friend and herself.

This is the first book in the exciting thriller series, the Ella Mills Mysteries. It's well-written with wonderful artistic details. Ella has a lot of trauma and psychological issues, and her panic attacks feel very realistic. They aren't overdone and are dealt with in a therapeutic manner. The whole tense plot is made even more so with a major storm raging in the city. I love the friendship between Ella and Suzy, how close and loyal they are. These are friends who will do anything for one another, and they never doubt each other. Suzy's boyfriend, Tom Bankes is a mystery, and I didn't know whether to trust him or not. You don't find out a lot about him, but there are hints who he is dropped here and there. Yet a lot about Tom is still unknown. I went back and forth through the book about a few people trying to figure out the mystery, and I really liked it kept me wondering.
