Blurb: Is the evil lurking in Sunshine House human or something much worse?

Once an exclusive Hollywood hotel catering to the likes of Rudolf Valentino and other great stars of the Silent Film Era, the Bockerman Hotel now is the Sunshine House, an assisted living home for seniors.

And its residents are dying… in droves.

Sara Caine, paranormal investigator, couldn’t believe she got an invitation to hunt for ghosts in the most haunted building in all of Los Angeles, The Sunshine House. Her excitement turns to horror as the mysteries of Sunshine House reveal themselves to be more terrifying then she could have ever imagined.

Review: Sunshine House was once a famous Hollywood hotel catering to the stars of the Silent Film Era. Now it's an assisted living home for seniors, and its residents are dying. A few of the residents try to solve the case themselves, thinking it could be the live-in nurse, Louise. They call in a paranormal team to talk to the ghosts to help, but the team's psychic, Sara Caine, sees much more than she expects, and she's swept up in a decades old serial murder case. Yet investigating it could mean she's the killer's next victim.

This is the first book in the paranormal thriller series, Los Angeles Ghosts. I liked the concept of a senior living facility in a haunted hotel, but we didn't get too much on that level. There was mentions of famous ghosts, and even the psychic briefly spoke to one. Yet nothing else was done with them. I also wanted more of an old Hollywood atmosphere in the facility, as that's why the seniors who chose to stay at Sunshine House decided to live there, but there was very little description of the setting.

The main plot was about who was killing the residents at Sunshine House. The cast of characters is large, and it was confusing at first with so many points of view and they felt jumbled. I almost put down the book after the first twenty pages, because it was too many people being thrown at me. Yet the mystery was worth pursuing. I figured out who was the killer early on. It was obvious, at least to me, but I wanted to see what the other characters would do, so I read through the book. It came together more at the end, if just thrown on, but there were still too many loose ends.
