Blurb: HE ONCE REJECTED HER HEART. NOW HE HUNTS FOR IT.

Lyra Mooncrest has spent years burying the memory of Theron Shadowmane-the wolf shifter who shattered her heart. Now, as the Harvest Ritual approaches, she's thrown into a deadly tradition that forces her deep into forbidden territory, where the ancient magic that could save her pack lies hidden.

But the ritual has a cruel twist-Lyra must work alongside Theron, the only man who ever made her feel worthless.

The ritual grounds are soaked in the blood of those who failed before her. Many participants would see Lyra fall just to eliminate the Mooncrest line, and Theron stands at the front of that line. With danger at every turn, Lyra must sharpen every weapon in her arsenal just to survive.

Because when the ancient ritual begins, there are only two possible outcomes: HUNT OR BE HUNTED. EITHER WAY, SOMEONE BLEEDS.

Review: Theron Shadowmane had shattered Lyra Mooncrest's heart, and now she's chained to him as his partner for the Harvest Ritual. A contest that has been known to turn deadly. They must work together, whether they like it or not, and not just to survive. They each have their own reasons for wanting to win, but with their two packs competing for who gets to rule over them for the next ten years, they are at odds. Being back together awakens old feelings but will they survive for it to grow into something new?

This is an incredible standalone romantasy. It gives Hunger Games and Maze Runner feels. I was immediately pulled in by the rich worldbuilding, of two opposing packs struggling for dominance. This is a multi-author shared world, and each book is different. I loved how their society is structured, their rituals, and magic. Mila's book is about wolf shifters, but if you have a taste for something else, there are several other books in the series.

Lyra is sweet and brave, and not just courageous competing in the ancient competition, but brave in facing Theron who broke her heart and dealing with her emotions. The fact she can forgive him and herself gives such amazing growth to her character. The tension between them is sizzling, but their bond goes much deeper than just the physical. I also really loved Aria (Lyra's best friend) and Keiran (Theron's best friend), and I would love to read their story next. There are lots of levels to the plot and still some mysteries that would be fantastic to explore in other books. Great fast-paced action and a roller coaster of emotion.

You can find Mila Young on her site and buy the book here.
