Review of The Setup

Blurb: Can a weekend change your fate?

As soon as Rory Price’s plane touches down in Britain for her two-year work contract , she has big plans to see and experience everything she can. The one thing that isn’t on the twenty-seven-year old’s agenda is a relationship.

Tell that to her matchmaking British friend who sets Rory up on a coffee date on her first full day in the new country.

Imogen Wright doesn’t want any more complications in her life. The only thing she’s considering committing to is adopting a dog.

Their blind date starts off disastrous, but there might be more than meets the eye.

Will the two headstrong women continue to clash, or will they see what’s so obvious to their matchmaking friend?

Review: Rory Price is excited about her two-year contract to work in the beautiful city of London, a place she's always wanted to travel to. Yet the first day meeting up with an old friend, she's setup Imogen who seems uptight and uninterested. The date starts horribly, but somehow with their quirkiness, they work through the awkwardness and discover that perhaps the matchmaker was on to something.

This was a quick and fun lesbian romance read. I felt Rory's excitement to be in the UK right away. She's loud and extroverted, and I'd love to go randomly touring with her. Imogen seems quiet at first, but her layers peel away and we get to see the marvelous woman underneath. The majority of the story takes place over the course of a weekend. There is a lot of smart and witty dialogue, which I'm a great fan of, but I know isn't for everyone. Lots of peeks into London in this book that is focused on characterization.
