Blurb: A love story written in the stars.
Hunted for being a witch, Madelyne longs for somewhere to belong and performs a full moon spell to find her true love.
Across the galaxy, Kalas completes the eons-old celestial ritual to show him the location of his fated mate. Enchanted by Madelyne’s beauty, Kalas flies to Earth to find her.
And, with nothing left for her on Earth, Madelyne agrees to accompany Kalas to his home planet.
But as Madelyne adjusts to her new life, old doubts linger, and she just cannot understand why someone like her would be worthy of the crown prince.
Madelyne has spent her entire life being told she doesn’t belong, and now Kalas must convince her it’s more than just ‘fate’ that makes him want to claim her as his own.
Review: Madelyne longs to find her true love and a place to belong. She performs a spell, and in another solar system, Kalas' god shows him his fated mate. He flies to Earth to claim her, and while she has her doubts, she agrees to return with him. Yet not everyone believes that Madelyne should be Kalas' mate. Despite their god declaring it so, evil plans are hatched in the secret and they may destroy more than just Madelyne's heart.
This is the first book in an incredible science fiction romance series. We start on Earth with Madelyne who is a witch, but even in modern times, witches are being hunted and burned. Rejected by her family for her magic, she attempts to find a place to belong with a spell. As fates would have it, the gorgeous prince Kalas is performing a ritual to find his fated mate. Their creator god is a very real being who has his hand in moving fate, and Kalas' people take it very seriously.
When Kalas comes to Earth to retrieve Maddie, it was lots of fun to read them getting to know one another and hiding from witch hunters. One thing about this book I really love is the uniqueness of the aliens. Kalas is nothing like I've ever read. He's a bit like a dragon shifter, but something much more. While the book is definitely sci-fi, it's got a fantasy feel, especially when Kalas and Maddie go to his home world. Royalty, palaces, the history, and political intrigue. The details are fantastic, and I felt fully emerged in this new world.
There are lots of layers to the plot. I never wanted to put my ereader down. Maddie is realistic in wanting to get to know Kalas and quell her doubts, but there are super spicy scenes too. Very hot! This is a fated mates romance, and it does move fast, but Maddie is smart about it.
