Blurb: At a crossroads between a cringe-worthy past (Todd the Toad) and an uncertain future (she's not exactly homeless, but it's close), Lucy Swift travels to Oxford to visit her grandmother. With Gran's undying love to count on and Cardinal Woolsey's, Gran's knitting shop, to keep her busy, Lucy can catch her breath and figure out what she's going to do.

Except it turns out that Gran is the undying. Or at least, the undead. But there's a death certificate. And a will, leaving the knitting shop to Lucy. And a lot of people going in and out who never use the door—including Gran, who is just as loving as ever, and prone to knitting sweaters at warp speed, late at night. What exactly is going on?

When Lucy discovers that Gran did not die peacefully in her sleep, but was murdered, she has to bring the killer to justice without tipping off the law that there's no body in the grave. Between a hot 600-year-old vampire and a dishy detective inspector, both of whom always seem to be there for her, Lucy finds her life getting more complicated than a triple cable cardigan.

The only one who seems to know what's going on is her cat ... or is it ... her familiar?

Review: Lucy Swift arrives in Oxford to visit her grandmother and try to find some focus in her uncertain life. Except she discovers her Gran has been murdered in her own knitting shop, Cardinal Woolsey's. Not only had Gran been murdered, she is now a vampire and is part of an undead knitting club which includes a gorgeous vampire named Rafe. Gran's will left the shop to Lucy, and now it seems someone wants her dead. Lucy must find out who killed Gran and not end up as one of the undead, or worse, just plain dead.

This is the first book in the cozy paranormal mystery series, Vampire Knitting Club. It's exactly what you could hope for in a sweet and light cozy read. A knitting shop, a vampire knitting club, and a murder mystery. The author details the setting so nicely. I love an old corner of a city with quaint shops that are rich with history.

Lucy is a sweetheart and her cat Nyx is darling. I would have liked more about Rafe, but I think with how many books there are in the series, we'll see more of him and the handsome detective. It was hilarious to have a bunch of old folk vampires who loved to knit. Who knew I needed an undead knitting club? But they do have good reason. What else are you going to do to fill time over your centuries of living? It keeps the hands and mind busy so you aren't causing trouble. On top of trying to solve a mystery and running a shop, Lucy has also discovered she's a witch. She's got a long journey ahead of her there, but it's going to be fun.
